Home A Haven:Day 1~10-4-10

Monday October 4th

I feel a bit behind since I didn't get this post up on Monday evening. But I have a good reason, I made myself go to bed at a decent hour as apposed to say 3:00am or so. :)

I began the day by spending time with Him. I read Psalm 107, my devotion and said prayers. Had devotion time with the girls. Then we, along with my sweet husband, set out on our nature walk. It was beautiful and sunny, although a bit chilly. About an hour later we arrived home cold and hungry. Made Cinnamon Rolls and Hot Chocolate. Yum!

The rest of the day went great. I really tried to be in the moment. I really listened to the girls. You know, look them in the eye and truly listen to what they were saying instead of only half listening and saying "uh-huh".( I do this way too often with them.) I think because I really paid attention it made a difference in the amount of times that I had to raise my voice to them....I didn't have to do it once today. :)

We went to the library.

We were on our way home, when my oldest says, "Mommy, today was a great day!" How awesome is that?

Supper...Ranch Chicken Wraps, Sweet Corn and Apples and Dip.

Prayers first...

I have always been a list maker, but it seems that here lately I have not been doing it. But, making my list Sunday evening, I felt a sense of control for the day ahead.
And NO doubt, putting God first makes a huge difference in my attitude for the day!!!

What a great report of your day! I love the sweet comment from your daughter - that just makes it all so much better! I've been hearing similar things from my children and it is very moving.

Hope you have another great day seeking Him in your haven today!

Your ranch chicken wraps look delicious. I was wondering if you would mind posting the recipe?

Hope that you had a wonderful day making your home a haven!

Hi Clorissa-

What a wonderful day. Doesn't it feel so good when we get to truly enjoy the day with our littles. I too feel like I do the "uh-huh" thing way to much. When I am more in the moment the spirit is strong and I know that we are creating lasting memories and that I am truly getting to know my Heavenly Father and my children. Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog and for your blessings. I pray you too will have a great day with your littles. God Bless

Thank you all for your kind comments! I take each one to heart.

Valerie-I will post the Ranch Wrap recipe sometime on Sat. I took a picture of the recipe and the picture of the finished product to show you what they are SUPPOSED to look like. Mine don't look anything like the picture. LOL! Anyway the pic came out a bit blurry. So I will type it out. They really are yummy and so easy and quick to make! :)
