Community Halloween Costume Contest~10-30-13

My girls wanted to be cowgirls for Halloween.  The youngest wanted to have a horse to go along with the cowgirl costume.  Well, I didn't want to spend any money,  so I only used items we had on hand.  I did have to buy the bandanas, which were 2 for $1.  So not bad.  They didn't win the contest.  But the kids behind them did.  Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter.  SO cute.  It was nice to get out and see the community come together.  We enjoyed Apple Cider and Iced Sugar cookies after the final judging.  Today was a great day! :)

2013 Family Fall Busket List ~10-8-13

We can check "Make Caramel Apples" off our Fall Bucket List!  Only 15 more items to do! ;)
Big beautiful Red Delicious Apples on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

The girls poured caramel sauce all over! Yum! We gave them a quick sprinkle of non pareils. Next, we put them in the fridge so the caramel could set up.
After waiting an excruciating 30 minutes...it was time to enjoy Homemade Caramel Apples.  Do you have a Fall Bucket List?

In An Instant

Earlier this evening, I walked into the living room to find my 7 year old standing on the back of the couch. I could not believe what I was seeing. I simply pointed to her bedroom door and she slid down the back of the couch. She began whimpering. She went to her room.
After being in time out for about 15 minutes, I began my tirade. I was just so disappointed that she would do something like that...we always talk about how we need to take care of our things. I talked to Hubby, who is at work, and he said that he found her doing the same thing a few days earlier. ): So she knew that she was not supposed to do it.

I try so hard to be a good mom. Try to be in the moment. Try to see life through my young daughters eyes. Today I failed big time. I displayed conduct unbecoming of a mother.

In an instant I chose not to forgive her, I just feel so angry. I told her I loved her, just that I didn't like her behavior. We both cried. I will ask for her forgiveness in the morning. She will give it with no hesitation. I have a lot to learn from my 7 year old.

First Day of Homeschool~8-16-10

Today was my 5 year old daughter's first day of Kindergarten. I was so excited but a bit sad that this day finally arrived. She was very excited too. I tried to make her first day very special.

We went shopping on Sunday...

Good Morning Sweet Girl! Time for school!

While shopping on Sunday I let her pick out a first day of school outfit!

After she was dressed, we took some pictures outside next to Baby Bunny's tree.

Daddy took her and little sister to McDonald's in Paris to have a Daddy-Daughter Breakfast. While they were gone I finished up a few little details....
I wrote in chalk on the ramp, "Landes, Welcome to your first special day of Kindergarten!"

Nameplate for Landes, made one for Grayson too.

Here she is reading the sign I put on the front door...

Here is what I put on the door....
It was a really good day. I will try to post more of today tomorrow. I am exhausted!

December Photo Project~12-17-09

My middle baby was born 5 years ago today. She is such a sweet girl. Appreciates everything given to her. Precious smile.

Thank You Lord for giving us this wonderful blessing.

Making a wish!

We are having a party for her on Saturday....but I couldn't let the day pass without some celebrating. I made lemon cupcakes. We each decorated our own cupcake.
