First Day of Homeschool~8-16-10

Today was my 5 year old daughter's first day of Kindergarten. I was so excited but a bit sad that this day finally arrived. She was very excited too. I tried to make her first day very special.

We went shopping on Sunday...

Good Morning Sweet Girl! Time for school!

While shopping on Sunday I let her pick out a first day of school outfit!

After she was dressed, we took some pictures outside next to Baby Bunny's tree.

Daddy took her and little sister to McDonald's in Paris to have a Daddy-Daughter Breakfast. While they were gone I finished up a few little details....
I wrote in chalk on the ramp, "Landes, Welcome to your first special day of Kindergarten!"

Nameplate for Landes, made one for Grayson too.

Here she is reading the sign I put on the front door...

Here is what I put on the door....
It was a really good day. I will try to post more of today tomorrow. I am exhausted!

Before Meets After~7-14-10

I bought this window/flowerbox in May at a flea market for $5.00. I love the color the frame was painted. What I didn't love was the window scene.

The Before

The After

A little better I think. :)

Before Meets After~7-14-10

Yard sale find last summer for .50. Not Pretty! But soon to be.

 Before

Meets After

I painted it a pretty green. Next, I covered a thin piece of cardboard with a piece of pretty material. ( I love my hot glue gun!) I plan on making a few more material covered inserts to change out the tray for different looks or seasons.

I am having my first giveaway and I didn't even realize it until I was visiting tales from an oc cottage She is having a very sweet giveaway and I guess I got so excited, I unknowingly clicked on the linky spot. The form looked different from other forms, but I filled it in and hoped to win!! I went to visit her blog today and couldn't find my entry. So I looked around for it and found it under her "if you are having a giveaway" link up section. Boy, do I feel dumb. For some reason I am number 10 and 11! Happy 2nd Blogaversary, Little Blog!~7-13-10

Tuesday July 13, 2010
Today is my little blogs 2nd Anniversary. Not much to celebrate. I have not kept up with it. Poor thing is neglected. I really wanted to start blogging to document my life. The ups and downs. My craft projects. Words of wisdom for my girls.

I really need to keep up with this. So here it goes....a few moments in my life today!

I was trying to get a few things done this afternoon but the girls were not going to let that happen. So I made them each a tent over their beds. I just used a flat sheet and a few safety pins and "waa-lah!" I then added some white lights over the tents. Pulled the shades and turned off the light. They played for a couple hours. Such a simple idea and they were so excited and couldn't wait for daddy to get home from work to show him.

The Lord Giveth and The Lord Taketh Away.

On Easter Sunday, April 4th we began to lose our baby. What devastation. We went in on April 8th and had a ultrasound. Sadly there was no heartbeat. I felt as though I had been kicked in the stomach. My mind shut down. Numbness followed. Our Dr. was very sweet. He shared that he and his wife had experienced two losses. He stressed that our losing the baby had nothing to do with anything I did. Losses just happen. We chose to have a D&C on Friday the 9th. The hours and minutes before the surgery were agonizing. I am so thankful that the staff and my Dr. were so caring. It was over in about an hour. I feel as though I have a hole in my heart that is dark and lonely. I miss my baby. Baby Bunny is what we called him or her.
I know that God has a plan and a reason for every moment of our lives, I will cling tight to that fact. He will restore me.

This is the tree that we planted in memory of our Sweet Baby. It is a Crabapple. In April, the month of our loss it will have beautiful white flowers all over it. I also bought the Serenity Plaque to place at the base of the tree.
